Apple crisp is one of my favorite weeknight desserts to make because it’s so easy and I usually have everything I need to make it in a minutes notice. I also love this recipe because it’s good for you! A healthy dessert? What more can you ask for?
Ingredients
- 2-3 medium apples, diced (or unsweetened applesauce)
- 2 Tbs. Stevia
- 1 Tbs. cinnamon, separated in 1/2 Tbs.
- 1 cup oats
- 2 Tbs. grass-fed butter, cold
- 1 Tbs. brown sugar
- 2 Tbs. raw honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven for 350 degrees.
- Take a 9x9 in. pan and spread the diced apples or applesauce along the bottom in an even layer.
- Sprinkle the Stevia and 1/2 Tbs. of cinnamon on top of the apples/applesauce.
- In a separate bowl, cut the cold butter into the oats and brown sugar.
- Sprinkle the oat, butter, brown sugar mixture over the top of the apples.
- Bake the mixture for 15-20 minutes.
- Take the apple crisp out of the oven and drizzle with honey.
Tip: You can also make this recipe with other fruits besides apples, or mix them together for a delicious treat! Berries like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and cherries work especially well. Peaches are another amazing option. Add fresh lemon zest on top for a light summer zing!
