Honey Butter Garlic Salmon

Alright so we don’t eat fish a lot in our house. Why? Well, honestly, it’s a little harder to cook right and I really didn’t think my husband liked it all that much. So much to my surprise, he actually requested it this week and came up with the rest of the meal (which was all made up of veggies!!).

It was a success! He loved the way I cooked it and we both decided that it was so good for us that we are going to start incorporating it weekly into our dinner plans.

On a side note, my one-year-old also loved it! It’s the first time he’s had fish and he ate almost an entire salmon filet himself!

Ingredients

  • 3-4 frozen salmon filets, thawed
  • 3 Tbs. butter
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbs. honey

Instructions

  1. Start by heating a frying pan on medium heat.
  2. Spray with olive oil and lay the salmon filets in the pan.
  3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  4. Add the butter to the pan and allow it to melt.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes and flip the filets.
  6. Cook the fish until they're opaque (I always test mine with a thermometer just in case - it should be 145F degrees)
  7. Remove the filets and set them on a plate.
  8. Add the lemon juice and "deglaze" the pan.
  9. Add the honey and mix the remaining juices together.
  10. Drizzle mixture over salmon and enjoy!
